iCIDM Observer Lab
Apply the common Observer Passport to a real scientific institution. The aim is not to call CIDM “conscious”; it is to make observation itself inspectable: who or what observed, through which method, under which limitations, producing what evidence, and what should be observed next.
Scientist / clinical team
Purpose, expertise, sampling decisions, interpretation and contextual judgement become inspectable parts of provenance.
Assay / sequencer / platform
Detection limits, resolution, calibration, target space and failure modes become part of the observation passport.
Pipeline / algorithm / AI
Inputs, transformations, model assumptions, uncertainty and outputs are represented without equating computation with consciousness.
Laboratory / CIDM
Repeated choices across years reveal what the institution tends to observe, what capabilities emerged and where blind spots may remain.
2,231 publications
The existing publication population can be re-read as traces of institutional observation, not merely bibliographic objects.
What should CIDM observe next?
Self-observation should generate testable questions, targeted data recovery, new experiments and improved future observation.
Select an observer role
Observe the institution observing
Attention
Which pathogens, technologies and questions have repeatedly attracted observation?
Capability
Which new things became observable only after PCR, sequencing, WGS or other capability transitions?
Blind spots
Which populations, time periods, evidence types or questions are weakly represented?
Observer effects
How did available instruments, funding, outbreaks, collaborations and institutional priorities shape what was observed?
Uncertainty
What does institutional memory suggest we know, but with weak, indirect or contested evidence?
Next observation
Which old dataset, stored isolate, publication cluster or unresolved question deserves renewed observation?
Turn self-observation into a reviewable queue
The Institution Mirror now feeds a Reality Return Queue that ranks candidate recovery, validation, reuse and research-question actions while preserving evidence and governance boundaries.
