Digital CIDM · v1.8
Knowledge Journeys
Instead of stopping at individual papers, Digital CIDM now detects repeated roads through the 31-year corpus. A journey is an observed cohort such as Pathogen → Technology → Publications across time or Theme → Technology → Publications across time.
Important: these are corpus-derived observational pathways. They are deliberately not labelled “validated capabilities” or “new research questions” yet. Those promotions require evidence/passport review.
Colleague Beta boundary: publication counts and source-derived classifications are working research data. “Observed”, “candidate”, “reviewed”, and “validated” are intentionally different states. A corpus pattern is not automatically an institutional capability or scientific conclusion.
178observed knowledge journeys
58pathogen × technology journeys
120theme × technology journeys
13technology capability candidates

Promotion ladder
1 · Observe
Corpus pathway
Repeated relationship visible in the 2,231-paper population.
2 · Verify
Evidence pathway
Representative papers and references reviewed through passports.
3 · Promote
Capability
A sustained institutional ability supported by evidence and history.
4 · Ask
Future question
Capability + gap + current reality becomes a reviewable research question.
