Can iCIDM avoid asking the wrong scientific question?
Existing gap-generated questions were passed through the new U1–U5 Unknown Gate before Question Passport promotion.
This does not mean the questions are unimportant. It means none yet earns the stronger claim “Reality Unknown” without additional representation/evidence review.
Candidate review
| ID | Question | Current pair count | Gate | Why held |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| UQG-001 | Why is the Cryptococcus × Whole-genome sequencing relationship sparse in the publication corpus, and is this a true capability gap, a terminology/classification gap, or simply an unrepresented relationship? | 0 | U4 | No supporting pair recovered by this simple current-label check; evidence/classification search required before calling it a Reality gap. |
| UQG-002 | Why is the Arboviruses × Clinical trial / therapy relationship sparse in the publication corpus, and is this a true capability gap, a terminology/classification gap, or simply an unrepresented relationship? | 0 | U4 | No supporting pair recovered by this simple current-label check; evidence/classification search required before calling it a Reality gap. |
| UQG-003 | Why is the Aspergillus × Whole-genome sequencing relationship sparse in the publication corpus, and is this a true capability gap, a terminology/classification gap, or simply an unrepresented relationship? | 0 | U4 | No supporting pair recovered by this simple current-label check; evidence/classification search required before calling it a Reality gap. |
| UQG-004 | Why is the Staphylococcus aureus / MRSA × Serology / immunology relationship sparse in the publication corpus, and is this a true capability gap, a terminology/classification gap, or simply an unrepresented relationship? | 0 | U4 | No supporting pair recovered by this simple current-label check; evidence/classification search required before calling it a Reality gap. |
| UQG-005 | Why is the Bordetella pertussis × Clinical trial / therapy relationship sparse in the publication corpus, and is this a true capability gap, a terminology/classification gap, or simply an unrepresented relationship? | 1 | U4 | Only 1 current-label records recovered; sparse representation needs evidence/classification review. |
| UQG-006 | Why is the Influenza / respiratory viruses × Whole-genome sequencing relationship sparse in the publication corpus, and is this a true capability gap, a terminology/classification gap, or simply an unrepresented relationship? | 25 | U1/U4 | 25 records recovered despite a sparse-gap prompt; representation/rule mismatch should be checked before scientific promotion. |
| UQG-007 | Why is the Streptococcus pneumoniae × Bioinformatics / modelling relationship sparse in the publication corpus, and is this a true capability gap, a terminology/classification gap, or simply an unrepresented relationship? | 0 | U4 | No supporting pair recovered by this simple current-label check; evidence/classification search required before calling it a Reality gap. |
| UQG-008 | Why is the Influenza / respiratory viruses × Bioinformatics / modelling relationship sparse in the publication corpus, and is this a true capability gap, a terminology/classification gap, or simply an unrepresented relationship? | 5 | U1/U4 | 5 records recovered despite a sparse-gap prompt; representation/rule mismatch should be checked before scientific promotion. |
| UQG-009 | The Streptococcus pneumoniae × PCR / molecular diagnostics relationship was recurrent but has not appeared recently in the corpus. Is the capability obsolete, absorbed into newer methods, dormant, or simply relabelled? | 8 | U1/U4 | 8 records recovered despite a sparse-gap prompt; representation/rule mismatch should be checked before scientific promotion. |
New promotion rule
Question Candidate ≠ Question Passport. A candidate becomes a Question Passport only after U1–U4 checks are documented and HI/domain review judges that a meaningful unresolved Reality question remains.

Qualified questions now compete for scarce human attention
A transparent triage layer ranks what deserves a short audit next while explicitly separating workflow priority from scientific importance.
Question quality now includes “Has humanity already answered this?”
Three high-attention candidates were globally checked; all three were substantially resolved and should be reformulated rather than promoted as new Reality Unknowns.
