Two real corpus QA signals are converted into reviewable experiments. No source record is overwritten; the aim is to improve the representation layer.
EXPERIMENT 001
Early WGS flags
14 pre-2005 records currently carry “Whole-genome sequencing”. Only 0 have an explicit genome/WGS-like title signal under this conservative prereview. 14 should be reviewed for a narrower historical molecular-sequencing label.
EXPERIMENT 002
COVID / respiratory theme split
230 pre-2019 records carry the combined label “COVID-19 / respiratory viruses”. A split taxonomy would preserve respiratory-virus history without visually projecting COVID-19 backward in time.
Calibration rule: “AI_PREREVIEWED” means a conservative candidate relabelling based on available metadata/title signals. HI/domain review is required before canonical classification changes.

What changes if the taxonomy improves?
The important effect is not cosmetic. Historical curves, technology-emergence stories, Explorer filters, Journey generation and capability inference all become safer when labels match the time and scientific scope of the source records.
